How to register a farm and animals
1. Registration of a farm
- Download, print and fill in the prescribed form: Farm Registration
- With the completed “Farm Registration” form, you must visit the relevant Regional Veterinary and Food Administration, which will begin the approval process and, if the farm meets the requirements, the RVFA will confirm the “Farm Registration” form.
- Send the duly completed, signed and veterinary inspector-confirmed “Farm Registration” form by post to the address of the Central Register of Farm Animals (CRHZ) in Žilina.
- After the correctly completed “Farm Registration” form is received at the CRHZ office, the farm will be issued a “Farm Register” certificate, which will then be sent to the breeder’s address. The breeder is assigned a farm registration number (six-digit code), which is indicated on the issued certificate. Based on this certificate, the breeder obtains authorisation to operate a farm for individual species of farm animals, followed by the registration of the specific farm animals.
2. Registration of animals
- Before the initial reporting of animals to the CRHZ, the animals must be properly marked – identifiable. Plastic ear tags are used for permanent identification. The distribution and sale of ear tags is ensured by the relevant regional offices of the Breeding Services of the SR, š.p.
- The necessary information on how to register individual species of farm animals, which form to use for initial registration and movement of animals, and what the breeder’s obligations are, can be found on the CRHZ website. Alternatively, you can contact the nearest regional office of the Breeding Services of the SR, š.p., or reach the CRHZ office by phone or email.
We recommend that farmers use online access to the CRHZ database through the Farmer Access application.
